About The Position

The Director, Brand Strategy and Content reports to the VP, Integrated Marketing and is responsible for working with cross functional teams to drive master and private label brand strategy to meet business objectives. This role is also responsible for developing the content strategy to support these brands as well as our social media and PR channel activation. This role is a fundamental position, serving as a strategy driver and influencer supporting our brands across all departments within our organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or Advertising
  • 8+ years' experience in brand strategy, content marketing or related fields.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience with brand strategy development and gaining buy-in from cross-functional leaders.
  • Experience managing and mentoring internal and external teams including agency partners.
  • Ability to craft effective program briefs, communications plans and content strategies.
  • Proven ability to identify, manage and present measurement reports and insights to inform strategy optimizations.
  • Ability to prioritize high volume, competing priorities across multiple functions.
  • Humble, servant-leader work and team management style.
  • Experience building and scaling capabilities within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with social media management tools and creative agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and evolve a comprehensive brand strategy for 2 master brands and 6 private label product brands including positioning, architecture, value propositions and guidelines.
  • Support annual brand planning as the SME informing departmental strategies such as product development, marketing, sales, training, pricing and distribution.
  • Collaborate with data and insights team to outline our customer journey and purchase drivers and identify whitespace opportunities in our strategic roadmap.
  • Work with data and insights team to identify and measure brand KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Develop and oversee an integrated content strategy, including articles, videos, digital and SEO content.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to create high-quality, engaging content that supports demand generation and brand awareness.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, including full-funnel marketing channels (digital, events, merchandising, paid media, social, PR etc.)
  • Work closely with the channel teams (paid/earned/owned) to amplify content and brand initiatives.
  • Develop and manage editorial calendar, prioritizing content against key business priorities.
  • Establish and optimize for KPIs.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging marketing innovations.
  • Develop and execute strategies for our social media and PR channels including influencer marketing opportunities.
  • Manage external agency partners and internal teams to support multiple social media instances at the national and local level.
  • Own our influencer strategy including identifying talent, managing relationships and negotiating partnerships.
