RES is seeking a Director, Bank Development to lead and support the successful development and delivery of mitigation bank projects across an assigned territory. This position can sit anywhere in the South East, including Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina. In this role, you will serve as a portfolio-level leader for complex, multi-year projects, partnering closely with Project Managers, General Managers, Client Solutions, Operations, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams. You will help guide projects from early feasibility and development strategy through planning, execution, financial oversight, reporting, and delivery. This is a highly collaborative leadership role for someone who enjoys building structure, coaching project teams, solving complex delivery challenges, and connecting market opportunity with strong project execution. The role draws directly from the responsibilities and competencies in the uploaded job draft, including portfolio project leadership, financial oversight, PM coaching, bank development strategy, and cross-functional coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in applied sciences, engineering, construction, environmental restoration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in an applied-sciences, engineering, construction, restoration, mitigation banking, or related project environment.
  • 5+ years of project management experience and/or team leadership experience.
  • Experience leading complex projects from conception through completion.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, coaching, or providing oversight to Project Managers or multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, execution, reporting, and delivery.
  • Ability to evaluate projects based on regulatory, technical, financial, and operational requirements.
  • Experience estimating project work and evaluating subcontractor bids.
  • Familiarity with project management software, project tracking systems, proposal development, or structured reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mitigation banking, ecological restoration, environmental consulting, construction, or other long-cycle development projects.
  • Strong financial fluency, including the ability to connect project decisions to revenue, margin, cash flow, forecasts, and budget performance.
  • Experience developing bank development strategies using market data, demand assumptions, pricing, customer insights, and delivery constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a portfolio-level leader for complex, multi-year mitigation bank projects across an assigned territory.
  • Partner with sales teams and opportunity Project Managers to support technical proposals, assess project feasibility, and define budgets, schedules, staffing plans, resource needs, and key milestones.
  • Help PMs build strong project models and management plans, including work breakdown structures, communication plans, scope management plans, quality plans, risk management plans, procurement plans, reporting requirements, contracts, and sales assumptions.
  • Meet regularly with PMs to review project status, manage critical issues, reinforce reporting expectations, and provide guidance on change control.
  • Coordinate closely with FP&A, General Managers, Client Solutions Managers, Operations Managers, PMs, and other support functions to keep projects moving and drive successful implementation.
  • Help lead bank development strategy work, including market evaluation, opportunity conversion, bookings strategy, and project delivery optimization.
  • Review project financial performance, including budgets, percent complete, revenue, margin, cash, forecasts, and budget adjustments.
  • Evaluate projects through regulatory, technical, financial, and operational lenses to support sound go/no-go decisions.
  • Introduce new practices, tools, training, and programs that strengthen PM capability, promote consistent project management discipline across the territory, and support PMs as a mentor, coach, and internal partner.
  • Lead through influence and build trust across cross-functional teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers.
  • Communicate clearly with technical, financial, operational, and executive audiences.
  • Navigate ambiguity while keeping teams focused on the next right action.
