About The Position

Fieldguide is seeking a Director, Audit Transformation to lead the shift from traditional audit execution to an agentic operating model. This role reports to the Head of Audit and is responsible for setting the direction for how financial audit agents are designed, adopted, and scaled across Fieldguide's customer base. The Director will act as the connection point between the Fieldguide agentic platform and the audit profession. In collaboration with product, engineering, sales, and customer success teams, they will define the scope of audit expertise for an agentic operating model, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. This role also involves establishing a change management framework for customer adoption and supporting strategic planning and special initiatives with the Head of Audit. The ideal candidate is a credible audit leader with experience in leading engagements, shaping methodology, or driving innovation within a leading firm, and believes in the centrality of professional judgment in audit. Requirements

  • CPA with 10+ years of financial audit experience at a public accounting firm, including senior leadership, national office, or innovation/transformation exposure.
  • Direct experience with regulatory and standard-setting bodies.
  • Experience designing or scaling a repeatable transformation or change-management program (playbooks, maturity models, training).
  • Strong expertise in auditing standards and audit methodology.
  • Experience with audit technology, automation, or AI-enabled tools, audit methodologies, templates, or workpapers.
  • Working knowledge of quality control/quality management standards as they relate to methodology and audit documentation.
  • Ability to translate professional standards into structured workflows and logic.
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.
  • Executive presence and the confidence to lead demos, onsites, and validation sprints directly in front of firm leadership and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the audit domain expert in product discovery, prioritization, and roadmap planning for agent-based workflows, translating practitioner and firm needs into product specs.
  • Work with AI architects and engineers to translate professional standards and practitioner judgment into the prompts, workflows, and guardrails behind integrated methodologies and testing agents.
  • Determine which procedures are suitable for agent execution, what level of autonomy is appropriate, and how output must be documented to satisfy professional standards and withstand regulatory inspection.
  • Pressure-test new agent capabilities with practitioners before they ship, creating a tight feedback loop between the field, Methodology, and Product.
  • Own, with Customer Success, the transformation motion that guides firms from initial adoption to full agentic audit transformation, including the playbook, maturity model, and program structure.
  • Equip Customer Success with the frameworks, content, and training to deliver transformation engagements repeatably and at scale.
  • Serve as executive sponsor and audit subject-matter expert on transformation engagements with Fieldguide's most strategic accounts.
  • Act as an escalation point on complex methodology and adoption issues.
  • Monitor customer health and methodology fit, feeding learnings back into product and methodology roadmaps.
  • Represent Fieldguide externally through written content, webinars, and speaking engagements, and through relationships with standard-setters, regulators, and industry analysts.
  • Monitor regulatory and standard-setting developments across the PCAOB, AICPA, and SEC, and translate the implications into Fieldguide's product, methodology, and messaging.
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering on go-to-market opportunities, leading executive briefings, product demonstrations, and technical validation conversations with firm leadership.
  • Represent Fieldguide on customer onsites, building credibility with both firm leadership and technical evaluators.
  • Support Sales and Marketing with audit-credible narrative, competitive positioning, and content across top-of-funnel and late-stage deals.
