About The Position

This position is for a Director of Asset Management at the Water Reclamation Facility in Milwaukee. The role is part of the senior management team and is responsible for the asset management of two water reclamation facilities. The Director will lead a team of skilled tradespeople in maintaining equipment and facilities safely and efficiently, utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for planning, scheduling, and documenting maintenance work. The position requires meeting stringent maintenance metrics as per the service agreement with MMSD.

Requirements

  • Engineering or technical degree with experience in change management (experience may be substituted for educational requirements).
  • Ten to fifteen years of progressive supervisory and management experience in a line or program management environment (operating, engineering, construction, or manufacturing).
  • Minimum five years of experience supervising in a union environment.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance activities and experience maintaining electronic & mechanical measuring equipment.
  • Experience in application of Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to optimize the use of technology and systems for communication, budget management, process streamlining, and efficiency increase.
  • Familiarity with maintenance, operation, regulatory reporting, and cost estimating software.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Water/wastewater treatment experience with thorough knowledge of methods, techniques, principles, and practices of water/wastewater treatment, water distribution, and wastewater collection.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems and processes.
  • Experience in maintenance of physical systems.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems (Enterprise and locally located).
  • Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of gas turbines, spark ignited and diesel engines.
  • Database software experience.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and statistical analysis.
  • Professional Engineer’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the asset management team with a focus on continuous improvement and a culture of safety and effectiveness.
  • Embrace and ensure the team embraces the Veolia safety culture.
  • Administer and manage the treatment facility and site maintenance department, including the CMMS.
  • Select, supervise, and train staff to ensure management directives are implemented and qualified staff are available.
  • Develop, administer, and manage departmental budgets.
  • Coordinate shared resources and services with the Conveyance team.
  • Collaborate with other Milwaukee team Directors and Managers for safe, efficient, and compliant system operation.
  • Fulfill detailed reporting requirements as per the client agreement.
  • Represent Veolia in meetings with the client and consultants regarding Asset Management.
  • Establish and administer programs, policies, and procedures for general, predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance, repairs, overhauls, shop operations, and work scheduling.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance for complex repair problems.
  • Direct staff in utilizing predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound).
  • Collaborate with asset management staff to develop repair vs. replacement strategies.
  • Recommend and report on the management of Material Capital Repairs or Replacements.
  • Consult with Operations and Engineering on equipment modifications or replacements to improve facility operation and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Oversee vendor/contractor maintenance services to ensure contractual agreements are met.
  • Coordinate with Procurement for sourcing maintenance contractors, parts, and inventory.
  • Analyze cost studies for new facilities and equipment to reduce operating costs.
  • Develop objectives and standards of performance for the Maintenance Department to meet contract, site, and regional goals.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Veolia Maintenance, asset, and O&M Manual Library.
  • Collaborate with the Veolia corporate asset management team on audits and compliance with VWNA maintenance policies.
  • Coordinate staff training using Veolia resources.
