We’re actively seeking a talented Director and Financial Engineer to join our Product Development Team in Newport Beach, CA; Omaha, NE; or Charlotte, NC. As a Director you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by assisting to develop and support the launch of new annuity products that deliver high value for our customers and align with Pacific Life’s long-term strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Financial Engineering or similar field
  • At least 4 years of finance experience, preferably with financial engineering and/or risk management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as leadership skills
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to various audiences, including senior management
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience effectively managing multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
  • Natural curiosity to discover root drivers of profit and risk
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented analysis to substantiate reasonability of results
  • Previous experience with Python

Responsibilities

  • Balance product profit, risk, and market competitiveness; help develop and test creative solutions to challenges encountered in product design, pricing, and implementation processes.
  • Design and evaluate products following existing profit and risk management guidelines and procedures.
  • Oversee financial models and processes
  • Support product development and analysis to support profitable growth across portfolio of actively sold retail annuity products.
  • Reflect on and incorporate industry, regulatory, and market trends into the product development cycle.
  • Synthesize and integrate data and analysis into a cohesive story that drives insights and supports business decisions and execution of our product strategy.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders (e.g., product strategy, product innovation, sales & distribution, finance & risk, investment) to develop solutions to better support our growing product development needs.
  • Embody a mindset of continuous improvement to identify enhancements of tools and processes that can further facilitate and streamline pricing analysis.
