About The Position

This role involves partnering with leadership to identify and develop strategic opportunities for innovation and growth within BlackRock's Private Markets division. The Director will be responsible for developing solutions from conception to launch, driving cross-functional collaboration, and championing strategic initiatives to enhance BlackRock's commercial positioning. This includes conducting market research, assessing competitor and client activity, engaging with partners on future innovation, and developing executive-level communications to present strategic plans and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Associate or a related role. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field or eight (8) years of experience as a Director, Associate or a related role.
  • Four (4) years of experience with: Cross-functional coordination, timeline and resource planning; proficiency in creating Excel-based Gantt charts and use of tools including Sharepoint and Microsoft Planner; and Knowledge of investment strategies (active, passive), asset classes (equities, credit, real estate, and infrastructure) and portfolio construction principles (risk and return optimization, diversification, liquidity management).
  • Three (3) years of experience with: Business case development and prioritization frameworks including prioritization matrices based on commercial viability and and cost scenario analysis.
  • One (1) year of experience with: Experience across private credit, private equity, infrastructure, and real estate, with knowledge of fund structures (closed-end funds, SMAs and evergreen vehicles); navigating regulatory considerations (’40 Act, exemptive relief) and designing structuring solutions for both institutional and retail channels); and Financial modeling including DCF modeling and due diligence; Reviewing legal documentation, financial statements, and market data to support strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to identify and develop strategic opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Develop solutions from start to finish through the development of project plans, collaboration with team members, and execution of final deliverables, including the launch of products and offerings.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across product, investment, and client teams to mobilize resources toward creating product strategy and development priorities and execution.
  • Champion strategic initiatives within Private Markets that enhance BlackRock’s commercial positioning and brand.
  • Conduct industry research and assess competitor and client activity to support the evaluation, prioritization and development of new products and solutions.
  • Engage with internal and external partners to assess future areas of innovation and disruption.
  • Develop executive presentations, memos, and strategic communications to articulate plans, track progress, and deliver final recommendations to key stakeholders across the firm.
