About The Position

The Director, Alumni Impact (DAI) will lead the development and execution of a regional alumni engagement and leadership strategy to support the nearly 2000 Teach For America alumni living and working in Colorado. This role will foster alumni connectivity, drive leadership development, and cultivate community partnerships in alignment with our 2030 goal. Success in this role will require strong strategic thinking, operational execution, stakeholder engagement, and a results-oriented mindset. The DAI will build career pathways for alumni, lead talent-matching efforts, and design initiatives that amplify alumni leadership across education, civic engagement, and the broader social impact landscape. Key Outcomes in Year One: Increase the number of alumni in high-impact leadership roles Engage at least 40% of the local alumni base in meaningful connection and collaboration Develop and launch a regional alumni leadership development strategy with an emphasis on career advancement and talent pipeline building

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience, with a focus in areas such as project management, community engagement, and talent development
  • Demonstrated success in building career advancement programming or pipelines, ideally in education or nonprofit sectors
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to execute complex initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted, results-driven partnerships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce
  • Ability to travel within Colorado
  • Availability for evening and weekend events (up to once per month)

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a comprehensive strategy for alumni career development and leadership placement
  • Build strategic partnerships with employers, hiring managers, and talent organizations to facilitate alumni placement in high-impact roles
  • Lead alumni talent-matching initiatives and provide tailored career coaching
  • Collaborate across the Teach For America network, including with LEE, the Colorado Children’s Campaign and other local partners and the national alumni team, to impact policy and advocate for systems change.
  • Operationalize enterprise-wide alumni benefits and value propositions locally
  • Design and implement engagement strategies and programming that foster alumni connection and leadership, including the Leadership Launch Fellowship
  • Lead the experience and transition strategy for second-year corps members entering alumnihood
  • Manage the Alumni Board and its auxiliary committees
  • In collaboration with the communications team, develop and execute predictable, purposeful alumni communications including a monthly newsletter
  • Collaborate with the alumni engagement committee of the TFA Colorado Board of Directors alumni engagement committee on various projects including stewarding the Alumni Excellence award.
  • Maintain and enhance the accuracy of alumni data in TFACT, targeting at least 80% data freshness annually
  • Use CRM and analytics tools to monitor campaign effectiveness and alumni engagement
  • Create systems and guidance for internal teammates to support ongoing data integrity
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives, including: Corps member development experiences (e.g., Practicum, professional development), Selection processes for corps members and Ignite fellows, Enterprise and regional leadership development initiatives, Community engagement events where TFA representation is needed

  • New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
  • Tier 1: $74,300 - 99,300
  • Tier 2: $81,000 - 108,300
  • Tier 3: $87,700 - 117,200
