Director, AI Product / Program Delivery

PfizerCollegeville, PA
$162,900 - $271,500Hybrid

About The Position

As Director, you turn AI transformation ambition into a running, producing initiative. You own making it real: operationalizing the business case, the outcomes, the business teams you serve, the partnerships, and the hybrid team of people and agents that delivers. You are strategic enough to shape where this goes and hands-on enough to build it yourself. This is not a role you run from a distance. You partner closely with your technical lead, who builds to the direction you set. Complex AI work moves only as fast as its weakest coordination point. As part of how Pfizer turns its AI ambition into delivered outcomes, you create the operational discipline that lets a small, senior, technical team move at pace without losing control. You sit between strategy and execution and you're accountable for both.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8+ years of experience; OR a Master’s degree with more than 7+ years of experience; OR a Ph.D. with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience with program or product management, delivery, or technical program cross-functional team management, including complex multi-stakeholder programs.
  • Experience building a business case and operating credibly with executive-level leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to run technical delivery programs end-to-end — plans, milestones, dependencies, and risk.
  • Working fluency in AI / technical delivery — able to engage credibly with engineers on what is being built and why.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, including a strong understanding of the medical-commercial firewall and non-promotional engagement requirements
  • Experience partnering with and influencing Medical Affairs leadership
  • Experience with Medical Science Liaison (MSL) and Field Medical workflows
  • Experience translating subject matter expert (SME) insights into product, technology, or business requirements
  • Experience with patient identification, patient finding, or population health analytics
  • Experience utilizing large-scale patient claims and real-world data (RWD) to generate insights
  • Experience measuring and optimizing precision, sensitivity, specificity, and false-positive rates in analytics or AI-driven solutions
  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and internal teams against scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management, including with senior executives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to make complexity legible.
  • Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer.
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship (such as TN, O-1, H-1B, etc.) is not available for this role now or in the future.
  • This position requires permanent work authorization in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial pharma or regulated environments, and familiarity with promotional-review and compliance workflows.
  • Experience with agile delivery and modern program-management and collaboration tooling.
  • Exposure to AI- or data-driven products and delivery.
  • PMP, agile, or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

  • Vision & Strategy —Know the commercial strategy well enough to judge which problems are worth solving, set the direction for the initiative, and keep the work anchored to the outcomes the business actually cares about.
  • Business Case & Commercial Logic — Build the business case and carry it forward. Size the opportunity, define the bet, and make the call on where to invest and where to stop. You produce this — you don't commission it.
  • AI-First Leadership — Lead this as an AI-first effort, not a conventional program with AI added on top. Push the team to reach for AI where it changes the shape of the work, hold automation and intelligence as the default rather than the exception, and set the ways of working the rest of the portfolio can learn from.
  • Business Outcomes — Own the result and the work that gets there. Tie the initiative to commercial outcomes and drive measurable movement on them. When something isn't working, you're close enough to the work to catch it and change course
  • Hybrid Team & Delivery — Lead a team that is part people, part agents, and produce alongside it. Decide what humans do, what agents do, and how they work together — then build. You set the operating model and you stay in the work
  • Program & Delivery Management — Own the initiative plan and key milestones. Drive cadence and ceremonies, track progress against goals, manage dependencies and critical path, and keep delivery on schedule.
  • Reporting & Communication — Produce clear, honest status for the VP, business sponsor, and governance forums. Maintain the single source of truth on status, decisions, and risks.

Benefits

  • 401(k) plan with Pfizer Matching Contributions and an additional Pfizer Retirement Savings Contribution
  • paid vacation, holiday and personal days
  • paid caregiver/parental and medical leave
  • health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage
  • Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
