Director, AI Product Development

Databook Labs, Inc.•Palo Alto, CA
•$160,000 - $240,000

About The Position

Databook is seeking a Director of AI Product Development to lead the design, development, testing, and shipment of their AI-guided selling platform. This role involves working closely with customers, Applied AI engineering, Data & Insights, and GTM AI Strategy & Deployment teams. The Director will lead a team of Agent Builders responsible for configuring agentic workflows and ensuring quality assurance. The focus is on the product that the AI Strategy & Deployment team deploys, rather than a purely technical product management role. The ideal candidate possesses strong judgment, a deep understanding of enterprise selling, and refined product taste, with a proven track record of shipping AI applications into enterprise production.

Requirements

  • 6 to 10 years of experience building and shipping software for enterprise customers.
  • Product leadership responsibility and experience leading or developing people.
  • Strong enterprise sales domain knowledge, including account planning, complex deal cycles, forecasting, and CRM data realities.
  • Proven record of designing, building, testing, and deploying AI applications (LLMs, agents, retrieval, tool use) in enterprise production.
  • Understanding of evaluations, context design, and LLM output failure modes.
  • Ability to prototype ideas with AI tools (judgment over code).
  • Refined product taste, noticing and fixing generic outputs, workflow friction, or answers that wouldn't hold up with executives.
  • Confidence with senior customer stakeholders, including CROs and other executives.
  • Clear, concise communication skills.
  • Ability to run customer sessions that end in clear decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building on or for sales AI or GTM platforms, or in the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Experience with knowledge graphs, entity resolution, or other data products where data quality shapes user experience.
  • Experience designing or delivering customer training, enablement, or bootcamp programs.
  • Prior experience at a top-tier consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), advising CxOs and influencing large-scale transformations.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across the US and globally.

Responsibilities

  • Define the product experience and translate product strategy into agentic workflows for sellers and sales leaders.
  • Make clear, opinionated judgments on product development priorities based on adoption and business impact.
  • Design how sellers interact with the CRM layer, ensuring opportunities start with understood companies and actions are captured effectively.
  • Partner with the Data & Insights team to ensure data coverage, freshness, and confidence are reflected in the product and to shape future data collection.
  • Design, build, and ship AI applications, partnering with Applied AI engineering from concept to production release and ongoing improvement.
  • Lead and develop the Agent Builder team, setting standards for workflow configuration and quality assurance.
  • Define and measure the quality of AI output for sellers, implementing evaluation sets, acceptance criteria, regression testing, and production monitoring.
  • Spend time with customers (sellers, sales leaders, marketing, CS, enablement, RevOps) to understand deal dynamics and bring that reality back into the product.
  • Partner with the AI Strategy & Deployment team to ensure alignment between sales, product development, and delivery.
  • Translate field patterns into reusable product capabilities.
  • Help design and deliver AI Bootcamps to educate customer teams on working with AI and Databook.
