About The Position

Capital One's Enterprise Learning & Development team is looking for a Director, AI Learning Enablement Leader to shape and deliver the learning and development strategy for our enterprise-wide AI transformation. You'll work with various partners across the company including strategy, technology, and HR leaders to design and implement learning initiatives that drive enterprise workforce readiness, accelerating AI fluency and operational tool adoption across the company. Evolving our organization to maximize speed-to-value requires a substantial paradigm shift. The company’s AI workforce strategy is pivotal to accelerating how Capital One operates. In this role, you will serve as the strategic lead responsible for creating and delivering our enterprise learning roadmap for AI. You will support our internal and external AI toolkit and drive associate readiness and enablement across the enterprise. We're seeking a highly analytical, product-minded strategist who lives at the intersection of talent, technology and organizational transformation to drive workforce readiness and adoption through training and talent development. Whether your background is in management consulting, technology adoption, or enterprise learning and development, your ability to build consensus around critical problem statements and drive scaled change management will be critical. If you are energized by architecting macro-level talent development strategies, driving large-scale change, and ruthlessly prioritizing high-leverage work over administrative noise—this role is for you.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience designing and executing large-scale technology adoption, change management, or corporate upskilling programs in a matrixed enterprise environment.
  • Deep, hands-on technical literacy and power-user familiarity with enterprise generative AI platforms (e.g., Claude, Gemini), prompt engineering techniques, and data privacy principles.
  • Demonstrated mastery in structured problem solving and process improvement, with a highly pragmatic approach to automating or dismantling outdated operational workflows.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex technical architectures into compelling storylines that build immediate executive alignment.
  • Strong program management discipline with a track record of managing competing timelines, resource allocation, and project risks autonomously without direct authority over stakeholders.
  • Naturally curious, constantly testing and iterating on emerging digital methodologies, and are uninterested in legacy training models that don't scale or drive measurable behavior change.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in client-facing consulting, enterprise change management, or product management.
  • At least 3 years of experience creating and executing technology enablement or learning strategies.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading complex, cross-functional project management initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of experience advising, influencing, and partnering with senior executives.
  • 4+ years of experience managing external technology vendors, SaaS integration training partners, or third-party content creation cycles.
  • Proven experience building AI-assisted automated workflows, internal documentation systems, or custom internal GPT/Gem platforms.
  • Advanced certifications in agile frameworks, instructional design, or enterprise technology transformation management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic lead responsible for creating and delivering our enterprise learning roadmap for AI.
  • Support our internal and external AI toolkit and drive associate readiness and enablement across the enterprise.
  • Anticipate future workforce capabilities by staying at the absolute forefront of emerging AI capabilities and trends.
  • Think and solve problems systemically using structured frameworks to clear gray space and bring order to ambiguity.
  • Apply iteration, experimentation, and a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approach to learning, focusing strictly on behavior change and business outcomes rather than steady-state bureaucracy.
  • Demonstrate rigorous discipline in orchestrating complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excel at managing competing priorities, navigating matrixed dependencies, and proactively mitigating risks to ensure seamless delivery from inception to adoption.
  • Thrive in a highly matrixed environment, possessing the credibility and executive presence to challenge senior stakeholders to think boldly, dismantle legacy delivery frameworks, and align around modern operating rhythms.
  • Translate advanced technical concepts (LLM workflows, prompt engineering, agentification) into simple, high-impact enablement tools that genuinely remove operational friction.
  • Use data analytics and learning science, including adoption metrics, platform usage trends, and business data to measure true return on investment (ROI) and continuously prioritize the learning backlog.
  • Consistently seek simple solutions and systematically eliminate arbitrary uniqueness across lines of business to maximize scalability and promote best practices.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being.
  • Eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
