About The Position

Bitdeer is seeking a Director, AI Datacenter Construction to lead delivery of multiple concurrent AI data center builds across its U.S. portfolio. Reporting to the President of Global Power Land Infrastructure, this role owns construction execution for high-density AI campuses, new builds, and retrofits, from site diligence and design through energization, Level 1–5 commissioning, and turnover to operations. The Director is accountable for safety, schedule, cost, and quality across all sites. The role leads site construction managers and discipline leads, establishes consistent delivery processes and reporting, and manages general contractors, utility partners, design consultants, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities span pre-construction and design review, power and interconnection, liquid-cooled AI infrastructure, fit-out integration, retrofit delivery, budgets and contracts, tenant coordination, executive reporting, safety, quality, commissioning, and operational turnover. The ideal candidate has owner-side experience delivering large-scale critical capacity at a hyperscaler or AI infrastructure company, including liquid-cooled AI data halls and multiple concurrent construction projects. The role requires field-oriented leadership and the ability to control cost and schedule across a growing portfolio.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale construction.
  • 5+ years leading owner-side hyperscale or AI data center construction.
  • Proven delivery of multiple concurrent builds or multi-building campuses totaling 300 MW+ of critical capacity, with capital budgets of $1B+.
  • Hands-on delivery experience with AI/ML-ready, high-density, or liquid-cooled data centers, including direct-to-chip cooling.
  • Experience across self-build, colocation, and third-party data center delivery, including tenant fit-outs.
  • Working knowledge of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems; MV/HV power distribution; substation interconnection; and Level 1–5 commissioning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong command of EAC forecasting, owner’s contingency, change-order control, value engineering, and OFCI procurement.
  • Track record of building standard construction processes and playbooks across multiple regions or programs.
  • Experience working with jurisdictions, inspectors, and building codes.
  • Construction leadership experience at a hyperscaler, AI cloud provider, or large data center developer.
  • Field-oriented leadership and the ability to develop construction managers and build disciplined, accountable teams.
  • Ability to negotiate firmly with tenants and contractors while maintaining productive relationships.
  • Ability to align engineering, operations, finance, tenants, utilities, and local authorities around a shared plan.
