The role specifically addresses the critical need in marketing for agents that impact browsing, comparison, and purchasing behavior, and the challenge for senior marketing leaders to maintain visibility and prove effectiveness in this evolving landscape.

Requirements

  • Approximately 10+ years of experience building Marketing Mix Modeling, incrementality, attribution, applied statistics, causal inference, experimentation, and marketing optimization.
  • Proven track record of shipping models that influenced real budget spending, and ability to discuss failed models.
  • Genuine marketing fluency, understanding differences between media channels and the practical application of measurement outputs for media planners.
  • Proficiency in causal inference and Bayesian methods as a working craft.
  • Experience with forecasting, optimization, experimentation platforms, and applied GenAI.
  • Experience shipping generative AI or agentic AI applications into production for marketing, analytics, and decision-making.
  • Comfortable writing and debugging code.
  • Strong client-facing and executive communication skills, able to make methodology legible to executives and defend analytical approaches.
  • Ability to hold technical audiences and senior client stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead complex and ambiguous measurement programs while remaining hands-on.
  • Experience leading and developing data-science teams across multiple workstreams.
  • Consulting and commercial mindset, including shaping solutions, supporting proposals, and expanding client relationships.
  • Experience with MLOps and cloud industrialization; models living in notebooks are not considered deliverables.
  • Master's degree (or higher) in computer science, engineering, statistics/mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent research/industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial-services experience, ideally in banking, wealth management, asset management, credit cards, or insurance.
  • Consulting, agency, measurement-vendor, or platform background across data-intensive industries (retail, CPG, healthcare, financial services).
  • Experience with brand and long-term marketing measurement (brand tracking, brand equity, long-term effects).
  • Experience with major media platforms and ecosystems (Google, Meta, retail media, CTV) and their measurement products.
  • Evidence of external thought leadership (white papers, published methodologies, conference participation, development of reusable measurement offerings).
  • Experience with visualization and delivery tooling (Looker, Tableau, Power BI or equivalent).
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks).

Responsibilities

  • Lead marketing measurement and effectiveness programs for US clients, starting with a major financial services client.
  • Own the methodology and client relationship for marketing measurement programs.
  • Lead multi-workstream data science teams.
  • Stay involved in models to challenge assumptions, review code, and solve technical problems.
  • Productize measurement work into reusable accelerators and points of view.
  • Step into live, complex measurement programs quickly and earn credibility with senior client stakeholders.
  • Own the design, execution, and interpretation of marketing measurement programs including MMM, geo and incrementality testing, attribution, experimentation, and marketing optimization.
  • Own the statistical modeling architecture and scientific rigor, including model specification, validation, calibration, uncertainty treatment, and assumption identification.
  • Adapt frameworks to complex commercial realities such as long consideration cycles, CRM-driven demand, short campaign flights, campaign overlap, brand and long-term effects, channel and regional constraints, and privacy-constrained measurement.
  • Translate model output into actionable media investment, budget allocation, and scenario-planning decisions.
  • Work in the client's environment from day zero and stay post-launch, addressing production issues.
  • Build and deploy GenAI and agentic applications into production for measurement, including automated diagnostics, insight generation, analyst copilots, and conversational access to results.
  • Contribute to Artefact's reusable measurement offerings, accelerators, and IP.
  • Collaborate with frontier labs (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, Mistral) on new AI developments.
  • Lead and develop data scientists and analysts across parallel workstreams.
  • Set delivery standards for reproducibility, documentation, QA, and validation.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, creatives, and strategists.
  • Shape solutions, support proposals, and scope new work to expand client relationships.
  • Represent Artefact externally through white papers, conference talks, and published methodologies.
  • Contribute to productization decisions for measurement offerings.
  • Engage directly with senior client stakeholders, presenting and defending methodologies, owning recommendations, and participating in qualification and solution design.
  • Utilize AI in daily work and adapt to AI-native ways of working.
