The Center Director of the Permian Basin Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating activities as directed by the AHEC Project Director of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), and the Dean of Health Sciences, Dual Credit and Continuing Education at Midland College. Emphasis is on the promotion and support of health careers in the 27-county service area, with special attention to the needs of rural communities. The mission is to address health workforce shortages and health disparities in the region through collaboration and education. Midland College is a dynamic institution experiencing rapid enrollment growth and institutional growth.
