About The Position

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all . Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. As the Director of the Agentic IT Operations Center of Excellence (AI Ops CoE) for Micron’s EnableAI initiative, you will lead the transformation of enterprise IT Operations into an agentic, autonomous operating model supporting Micron’s 24x7, high volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. Aligned within Enterprise Infrastructure and Security, this role serves as the senior authority for modernizing IT operations through AI driven automation, resilience engineering, and policy based execution. You will lead multi-functional operations teams spanning infrastructure, SRE, platform operations, automation engineering, and security, with accountability for designing and deploying agentic systems that operate at machine speed while meeting strict reliability, safety, and compliance requirements. Your mission is to evolve IT Operations from human driven, reactive processes into self healing, predictively optimized, and resilient systems, ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing operations and consistent global service delivery. By embedding agentic AI into the operational fabric, you will position IT Operations as a strategic enabler of manufacturing scale, yield, and uptime!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, operations, or platform engineering, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles supporting critically important, 24x7 enterprise or manufacturing environments.
  • Deep experience operating large‑scale IT systems with strong knowledge of reliability engineering, AIOps, observability platforms, automation frameworks, and event‑driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with modern AI platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Microsoft 365 Copilot), agent‑based systems, and MLOps/AIOps toolchains.
  • Proven ability to implement secure automation guided by established rules in regulated or security‑sensitive environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership style that balances operational rigor with innovation and empowers teams to adopt new operating models.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting IT operations for semiconductor manufacturing, industrial automation, or other safety‑ and uptime‑critical environments.
  • Prior leadership in SRE transformation, large‑scale automation, or autonomous operations initiatives.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Executive‑level communication skills with experience presenting operational strategy and outcomes to senior leaders and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the AI Ops Center of Excellence, defining the strategy, operating model, and execution roadmap for agentic IT operations across the enterprise.
  • Transform traditional IT operations—including infrastructure, networks, platforms, and end‑user services—into autonomous systems guided by clear rules, capable of safe decision‑making and execution.
  • Ensure IT services meet the extreme availability, predictability, and performance demands of semiconductor manufacturing environments.
  • Deploy agentic AIOps capabilities across observability, incident detection, diagnosis, remediation, capacity management, and change execution, enabling closed‑loop automation with appropriate safeguards.
  • Embed security, identity, data protection, and compliance controls directly into operational workflows, ensuring all automation is secure by design.
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and enterprise collaborators to translate operational risk, reliability targets, and service objectives into agent‑based execution models.
  • Define and standardize enterprise architectures, reference patterns, and platforms for scaling agentic operations globally.
  • Build and lead high‑performing IT operations and automation teams, encouraging a culture of operational rigor, resilience, continuous learning, and safe experimentation.
  • Represent Micron’s agentic IT operations vision with executive leadership, hyperscalers, and strategic technology partners.
