About The Position

As a Director within the RBC GFT Group, you will lead the strategy, planning, governance, and value realization for AML, Fraud and Law IT area. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, driving portfolio planning and governance while collaborating with senior executives, finance, and business leaders to shape executive decisions, define performance frameworks, and ensure AI initiatives deliver sustained enterprise impact.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years in strategy, transformation, consulting, or financial services leadership
  • 5-10 years experience in portfolio or program management
  • 5-10 years experience working with executives, including governance deliverables and, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and bridge divergent views.
  • Financial and business acumen, with a track record of driving strategic outcomes, managing complex budgets and maintaining strong financial governance
  • People management experience and ability to foster high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, planning, governance, and value realization for AML, Fraud and Law IT area.
  • Drive portfolio planning and governance.
  • Collaborate with senior executives, finance, and business leaders to shape executive decisions.
  • Define performance frameworks.
  • Ensure AI initiatives deliver sustained enterprise impact.
  • Establish clear governance frameworks to monitor resource utilization.
  • Integrate training programs to upskill resources, align with evolving role requirements.
  • Maintain year-end variance within ±3% of the approved plan through proactive monitoring and corrective actions.
  • Align resource allocation (FTE, contractors) with project demand to avoid over/under-staffing.
  • Standardize cost/capacity reporting templates for consistency and auditability.
  • Enhance Employee Engagement Through Connection, Recognition, and Culture.
  • Organize Quarterly Townhall Meetings for alignment and accessibility.
  • Implement an Instant Recognition Program for real-time acknowledgment.
  • Lead the team to ensure participation in Employee Giving across the year.
  • Organize Social events to honor diversity, strengthen community, and promote belonging.
  • Maintain all vendor contracts in alignment with GFT COO team’s governance framework.
  • Manage accruals meticulously to ensure clean books for the AFL function.
  • Allocate and recover ITAS resources strictly per contractual guidelines.
  • Process vendor milestone payments on time to strengthen RBC-vendor relationships.
  • Establish a structured feedback mechanism (e.g., bi-monthly reviews) to align vendor deliverables with business expectations.
  • Enhance AFL engagement through leadership forums, governance meetings, partnering with different stakeholders across function.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders to help them drive best results for the function.
  • Work closely with the GFT-COO and finance control team to ensure end results are met.
