About The Position

This client-facing position leads Advanced Planning and serves as an estate planning expert. It supports Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors. The role is part of a regionally aligned Advanced Planning team providing comprehensive financial and estate planning support. Additionally, the Director, Advanced Planning will also be relied on to support the Vice President, Advanced Planning Market Lead to provide advisor training, regional business development and thought leadership. We primarily use video technology to function remotely and meet virtually with clients and advisors across the region. We also collaborate with the Advanced Planning team both virtually and in-person to maintain and increase our collective impact on the clients we serve. Travel is typically encouraged between 5% and 20% of time, depending on physical proximity to regional sites and investor centers. This role is remote but does require residing within commuting distance to an Investor Center or Regional Center in the states of CA, NV or UT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10-12 years overall work experience
  • 4 years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment
  • Estate Planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge (required)
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 acquired within 90-days of employment
  • Proven emotional intelligence to effectively bond with and communicate with clients and their advisors
  • Possesses a solution-oriented, client-first work ethic
  • Residing within commuting distance to an Investor Center or Regional Center in the states of CA, NV or UT.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation designations preferred
  • Retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning preferred
