About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Director 2 of Facilities Operations to manage our long-term partnership at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. This Director of Facilities will oversee integrated facilities services, which include Facilities, Custodial and Grounds Services, Construction Project Management, and Energy Management. This high visibility, high profile position will interact with senior-level leadership at a very high level on campus and includes coordinating visits with dignitaries and community leaders, work closely with external partners, the Atlanta community and other high level guests. Sodexo provides college campuses with food, nutrition, environmental, and facilities management solutions. Requirements

  • Previous director-level experience in facilities management in a large, complex university or hospital environment.
  • BS in Engineering or other related field.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of trades and disciplines, including Energy management.
  • Proven success in providing innovative, out-of-the-box strategies to complex issues.
  • Excellent leadership skills, and willing to train and mentor staff.
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 5 years

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and align Facilities strategy, operations, and services with institutional goals and the University’s Master Plan.
  • Oversee daily Facilities operations, ensuring consistency with institutional standards and service expectations.
  • Direct major capital projects, including renovations, construction, and long-term maintenance initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, allocate resources, control operating expenses, and secure funding for projects and improvements.
  • Establish goals and drive standardization across operations, maintenance, and building systems for efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with internal leadership, external stakeholders, and vendors; report to senior leadership and the Board.
