Requirements

  • Valid Class G/ AR-Z or AZ license with an acceptable driver's abstract
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively work in a team and take direction well
  • Good Punctuality and Attendance Record
  • Experience with Installation of vaults, pedestals and all other underground enclosures
  • Able to operate the drill locater as required (Falcon Locator or equivalent)
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Experience with Layout bore path and identify any possible issues.
  • Experience drilling/locating through very congested areas
  • Experience as a Team leader and willing to train new employees
  • In conjunction with locator, experience with operating the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and / or duct
  • Experience with trouble shooting any equipment issues and relay to service technician for assistance or resolution.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to setup and operate a Vac truck and/or willing to learn

Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading directional bore equipment
  • Operating various types of Horizontal Directional Drills (Vermeer/ Ditch witch/ Terra)
  • Installation of vaults, pedestals and all other underground enclosures
  • Setup and operate a Vac truck and/or willing to learn
  • Maintain required maintenance checklist on the horizontal directional drills (HDD)
  • Transport-associated materials and equipment to the site
  • Move/lift material weighing 80+ pounds
  • Read and interpret utility locates
  • Complete daily logbooks and daily vehicle inspection
  • Operate the drill locater as required (Falcon Locator or equivalent)
  • Layout bore path and identify any possible issues
  • Drilling/locating through very congested areas
  • Train new employees
  • Operating the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and / or duct
  • Trouble shooting any equipment issues and relay to service technician for assistance or resolution.
