The Technician D1 Directional Drill Operator is accountable for performing work associated with directional drilling activities in and operator, locator, or labour type function on construction projects.

Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a clean driver’s record.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience operating locating and direction drill equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Book 7.
  • Must be able to interpretation of plans, diagrams and locates an asset.
  • Strong team player
  • Highly motivated
  • Independent and reliable
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.

  • Duct Work
  • Sod Restoration
  • Power Tools
  • Swamping/spotting
  • Jackhammer
  • Jumping Jack
  • Some heavy lifting
  • Concrete placement
  • Report any project delays or issues to Supervisor
  • Restorations: interlocking, asphalt, and slab installation
  • Interpretation of plans, diagrams and locates
  • Adherence to Health & Safety standards
  • Daily safety inspection of all equipment and tools
  • Equipment maintenance
