About The Position

Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, an iconic historic hotel in Quebec, is seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing. This role involves leading the commercial and marketing strategy for a globally recognized hotel with 610 rooms and suites, fine dining restaurants, and historic event spaces. The position requires translating the hotel's essence into compelling value propositions, fostering lasting partnerships, and achieving concrete results for a brand that needs to be well-told. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in an Executive Committee level position within a large luxury hotel.
  • Previous experience as a Director of Sales and Marketing in the hospitality sector.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in marketing, hospitality, hotel management, or a related field.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, revenue optimization, labor cost management, forecasting, and expense control.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and strategic decision-making in competitive and dynamic markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and motivate high-performing teams aligned with luxury brand standards.
  • Excellent customer service orientation, with a keen eye for detail, a results-oriented mindset, and an accessible leadership style.
  • Aptitude for managing demanding, high-level clientele, with a constant focus on improving satisfaction and loyalty.
  • In-depth knowledge of international luxury standards, market trends, and service innovations.
  • Solid business management skills, with excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in French is essential for leading teams and ensuring daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement integrated sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue targets, identify new business opportunities, and strengthen brand presence, while continuously monitoring market trends and competitor activities.
  • Prepare the annual budget for approval and ensure rigorous financial management throughout the year.
  • Set revenue and occupancy targets in alignment with the hotel's overall goals.
  • Ensure commercial objectives are met monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Manage key market segment accounts and ensure the integrity of key accounts and the prospect database.
  • Oversee sales forecasting and resource allocation to optimize team performance and maximize revenue generation.
  • Produce detailed reports on sales and marketing performance, including key indicators, financial analyses, and campaign effectiveness, and present results and recommendations to senior management.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the client base to support sustainable revenue growth.
  • Review sales contracts considering room nights, average rate, and overall hotel revenue objectives.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline development and CRM system utilization for rigorous customer interaction tracking.
  • Manage incentive sales programs as applicable.
  • Participate in certain commercial activities inside and outside the establishment.
  • Assume any other responsibilities assigned as per the establishment's needs.
  • Mobilize, support, and develop sales and marketing teams in a collaborative environment that values initiative, accountability, and professional development.
  • Lead and manage the sales department, ensuring adherence to all service standards and consistently providing professional, welcoming, and warm service.
  • Balance operational, administrative, and human resource needs for sound and responsible resource management.
  • Be responsible for achieving individual objectives for all sales team members.
  • Provide advice and guidance in developing action plans by market segment.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures, as well as all safety policies.
  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies to enhance the positioning of Château Frontenac, continuously monitoring market trends and competitor activities.
  • Cultivate strong and lasting relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and marketing partners, ensuring a consistent and polished experience at every touchpoint.
  • Drive marketing campaigns, promotional initiatives, and brand positioning strategies in support of sales objectives.
  • Leverage marketing automation platforms and analytics tools to measure campaign performance and guide decisions.
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer behavior to refine marketing approaches and improve results.
  • Increase brand visibility through participation in commercial activities.
  • Maintain the highest standards of luxury presentation, representing the Fairmont brand with integrity and professionalism.
  • Delegate and organize effectively, prioritizing tasks in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Preserve the security and confidentiality of client and hotel information.
