As Director of the Business Unit for Global Supply Chain, you will be responsible for developing, leading, and implementing the overall strategy of the business unit, while also overseeing and managing supplier operational performance (quality, delivery, inventory). You will play a key role in supporting the strategic procurement organization, particularly in identifying and selecting suppliers and establishing strategic partnerships aligned with corporate strategy. You will also collaborate with the Supplier Quality department to address and resolve production non-conformities, ensuring efficient and high-performing processes. The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field (Engineering degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Operations, or within a complex industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years of people leadership experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is strongly preferred; experience in the railway industry is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with SAP; knowledge of Power BI is an asset.
  • Experience in project management; PMP certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing environments, continuous improvement principles, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Solid financial acumen with the ability to support sound business decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team development, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong political savvy and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong sense of urgency, agility, and the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to maintain a broad organizational perspective while effectively managing operational details when required.

  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall strategy for the business unit in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Identify improvement opportunities within the unit and with suppliers, implementing projects to optimize performance and reduce costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business unit and define corrective actions as needed to achieve expected results.
  • Analyze performance data for the business unit to evaluate and adjust plans to maintain or improve outcomes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on strategic projects to enhance performance or reduce costs.
  • Provide strategic direction on supplier relationship management, including the development of initial strategies and categorizing suppliers (growth, maintenance, divestment).
  • Review and approve strategies for key supplier relationships and participate in strategic processes such as the Supplier Strategy Review Board (SSRB).
  • Ensure the allocation of budget and resources necessary to execute supplier strategies.
  • Oversee supplier contract performance, including resolving issues related to non-performance.
  • Identify contractual needs and work with the contracts team to implement them.
  • Coordinate the execution of purchasing requests and orders, including necessary adjustments for specific needs such as tooling or production accelerations.
  • Supervise and direct the inventory strategy for products/sites under your responsibility, ensuring the efficient flow of materials.
  • Act as the escalation point for suppliers and internal partners, ensuring seamless communication and rapid resolution of issues.
  • Drive the quality and delivery performance of products and suppliers under your responsibility, promoting long-term initiatives for sustainable solutions.
  • Actively participate in leadership meetings to present performance results and strategies for the business unit.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (operations, quality, contracts) to ensure continuous alignment with global strategic objectives.
