About The Position

The Training Experience Supervisor (TES) works under the direction of the Training & Onboarding Specialist and provides hands-on support in staff training, office coordination, and employee development at Essential Behavioral Support, Inc. (EBSI). This role is responsible for daily oversight of the training experience, including supervising trainees during office-based onboarding, assisting in ongoing trainings, ensuring training compliance, and providing emergency training coverage as needed in program homes. The TES also serves as the primary on-site support for the training office—opening and closing the facility, maintaining supplies, greeting visitors, and directing staff to the appropriate resources. This position ensures a seamless and professional training environment while supporting the long-term growth and competency of EBSI staff.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Must meet Title 17 and Title 22 requirements. Have at least six months prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on behavioral services, in a residential setting working with persons with behaviors that may impact health and safety.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to plan, self-initiate tasks, organize, and work in a specialized treatment program involving members of other treatment disciplines; coordinate all aspects of program services with EBSI management team; coordinate and engage in professional communication with program consultants and program leadership; teach and participate in professional training; recognize situations requiring the creative application of technical skills; develop and evaluate creative approaches to the assessment and implementation of evidence-based practices; within one’s scope of practice, conduct assessment lay groups; analyze situations accurately and take effective action. Must be able to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate verbally by phone in English in a clear and concise manner. The Program Administrator demonstrates excellent written communication skills and problem-solving skills, even in the most challenging of situations.
  • Special Personal Characteristics: Aptitude for working with individuals who are acutely ill, infirm, visually impaired, have a developmental disability, mental disability, emotional disorder, unpredictable and even violent or self-injurious behavior. Demonstrate emotional stability, patience, tact, and alertness. Proactive team member who offers solutions to complex presenting problems.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., approximately three (3) times per week. Must be able to navigate several flights of stairs during each work shift. Ability to drive safely in heavy traffic and inclement weather.
  • Mental Abilities: Ability to think clearly and manage multiple changing priorities, and remain pleasant and positive. Requires critical thinking and ability to manage difficult population. Requires good judgment. Maintain concentration and alertness in meetings.
  • License Required: Possession of a valid Adult Residential Care Facility Administrator Certificate, SARC Residential Services Orientation, CPR/First-AID Instructor, Ukeru and Pro-ACT Certificates, DSP I, DSP II certificates, DOJ and FBI clearance, [child abuse index clearance – as applicable], and TB clearance prior to provision of services. A valid California Driver's License - Class C. Proof of current auto insurance prior to using one’s car for agency-authorized work or transport purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly in-person training sessions for staff under the guidance of the Training & Onboarding Specialist.
  • Provide training and support on weekends and afterhours as required by supervisor and EBSI.
  • Supervise new hires during office-based training and onboarding, ensuring trainees are supported throughout the process.
  • Review and maintain training schedules, ensuring employees complete required certifications and trainings before expiration.
  • Track employee training files and documentation to ensure compliance with Title 17, Title 22, and agency requirements.
  • Assist with coordinating and scheduling trainings in CPR/First Aid, Ukeru, Pro-ACT, and other mandated programs.
  • Support Training & Onboarding Specialist in developing materials, improving training flow, and enhancing the training experience.
  • Coordinate schedules for trainings, shifts and work with Program Administrators to ensure regulatory and state compliance.
  • Serve as the daily on-site point of contact for the training office: opening in the morning, closing at the end of the day, and ensuring security of the facility.
  • Greet incoming staff, trainees, and visitors; provide directions and a welcoming environment.
  • Maintain and organize office spaces, training rooms, and supplies.
  • Receive, unload, and distribute office and training supplies as delivered.
  • Support scheduling and communication for staff trainings and office use.
  • Monitor staff training completion and notify supervisors of upcoming expirations.
  • Ensure all employee training records are current and properly filed in employee systems.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with state licensing requirements and agency policies related to staff training.
  • Provide spot-check trainings in residential homes as needed for emergency or targeted support.
