About The Position
Direct Support Staff work with individuals with disabilities in their homes and in the community. The main job is to create opportunities for individuals to increase their quality of life. Rockwell Care Services offers a unique opportunity to do important, fulfilling work and to build close, caring relationships.
Requirements
- Compassionate, reliable and provide excellent care
- High school graduate or G.E.D
- At least 6 months of paid experience, or 1 year of unpaid experience caring for others
- Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
- Have good judgment and able to handle crisis situations
- Possess a valid driver's license, and have use of an insured automobile
- At least 18 years of age
Responsibilities
- Companionship
- Meal Preparation
- Housekeeping
- Medication reminders
- General assistance around their home
- Running errands with the individuals
- Engaging in activities like games, memory books, and light exercise
- Personal care assistance (bathing, dressing & grooming)
- Assist in developing life skills by following program guidelines
