About The Position

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, is currently seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSPs) at our residential program in Demarest, NJ. In this role, you will provide hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, helping them build daily living skills, independence, and confidence in a supportive residential setting.

Requirements

• Must be 20 years or older
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass state and Federal criminal background checks
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and PPD
• Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance, supervision, mentoring, and guidance to residents.
• Support individuals with daily living skills (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene).
• Support individuals with health and wellness (personal medical care, healthy living).
• Support individuals with community participation (shopping, recreation, and activities).
• Support individuals with social and emotional development (coping skills, communication, friendships).
• Support individuals with budgeting and money management.
• Support individuals in building independence, dignity, and autonomy.
• Directly contribute to improving quality of life and fostering meaningful independence.
