As a Direct Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in serving people with intellectual and development disabilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year experience in a related field
Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

Assist 4 individuals in Independent Living (all live in their own apartments). DSS will be expected to attend scheduled visits with the individuals.
Assist people served in the handling of money and finances.
Provide transportation and assist people served with accessing services in the community.
Assist people served with general housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and laundry.
Escort individuals to medical, dental, or therapy appointments and assist them in communicating with healthcare providers.
Provide medication monitoring and/or administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Maintain accurate, daily logs of shifts, tracking progress toward goals outlined in the individual’s Individualized Service Plan.
