About The Position

The mission of SW Resources (a subsidiary of Goodwill Industries of the Summit) is to provide vocational services and employment to individuals who have disabilities, enabling them to achieve their full potential. The company offers a wide variety of services for businesses, allowing them to run efficiently and effectively while helping to create jobs and opportunities for individuals to live independently and productively. The Direct Support Provider (DSP) will assist the DSP Supervisor with providing work skills training and social skills training to clients. The DSP will also assist with completion of daily paperwork and data collection for the clients in accordance with agency and government guidelines. The DSP is responsible to implement and follow the behavioral protocols and support plans after training for client-specific needs. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Reading, writing and math levels equivalent of a high school graduate.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of six months of social service or life experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DSP Supervisor with providing work skills training and social skills training to clients.
  • Assist with completion of daily paperwork and data collection for the clients in accordance with agency and government guidelines.
  • Implement and follow the behavioral protocols and support plans after training for client-specific needs.
  • Comprehend and follow daily and weekly schedules of training objectives for clients served.
  • Assist with the supervision and monitoring of clients in the Title XIX ID/DD Waiver Program.
  • Assist with the set-up of training activities.
  • Transport clients to and from prevocational training activities as needed.
  • Assist clients with accommodation of work performance tasks.
  • Assist in training clients in job skills, social skills, and behavioral issues.
  • Assist with intervention to replace inappropriate work behaviors with adaptive work skills and behaviors.
  • Provide one-on-one training to clients as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining the staff to client ratio according to behavioral health regulations.
  • Abide by Medicaid Waiver guidelines as set by APS Healthcare.
  • Work in an extremely busy environment requiring above-average organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Work well under pressure while accurately maintaining satisfactory progress and meeting established deadlines.
  • Exhibit professional demeanor in appearance, interpersonal relations, work ethic and attitude.
  • Work as part of a team.
