About The Position

The Direct Support Professional Barista/What’s up Dawg Food Truck position involves warmly greeting and assisting customers, creating a welcoming environment, and providing person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while preparing menu items. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential for occasional evening and weekend hours based on event schedules and operational needs. The hiring range is $17.00 - $18.53 per hour, depending on education and experience. The position will remain open until filled.

Requirements

• Minimum age 18.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• CPR, First Aid – client contact is limited prior to certification.
• CPI within 60 days of hire; client contact is limited until this training is completed.
• Van Drivers Training – before driving an Ariel owned vehicle.
• QMAP – within 60 days of hire, may not provide medication to clients without this certification.
• Informed Supervision training
• BSIT
• Client specific training
• Skilled in maintaining a high level of confidentiality in all areas related to working at Ariel.
• Ability to demonstrate regular attendance and work outside of traditional office hours and settings including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary to meet the needs of the agency and individuals served.
• Possess the skills to organize and implement planned and structured activities for individuals served to enhance skills and promote personal growth.
• Ability to teach job related skills.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and meet professional standards of work performed.
• Knowledge of rules and regulations related to the program.
• Skill in reading, writing and speaking English.
• The ability to effectively communicate verbally, electronically, and in written format in both individual and group settings.

• Knowledge of basic computer functions and technology.

Nice To Haves

• Six months experience in a related field, i.e., serving individuals with Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled, or the mental health field.
• 6 Months of experience providing total care to individuals.
• Related certifications and trainings, (CPR, Safety Care, QMAP, First Aid). All certifications must be certifiable and current.

Responsibilities

• Teach clients self-help, social, interpersonal, and daily living skills, according to their treatment plans.
• Safely provide transportation per Ariel’s Transportation Policy.
• Responsible for supports and assistance with personal care as needed.
• Review and become familiar with client specific protocols, services and supports, and individual support plans.
• Gather supplies, equipment, medications, and materials for engaging in person-centered services and supports in a meaningful way.
• Complete required documentation daily.
• Manage challenging behaviors through established training.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with other team members, leads, supervisors, manager, and other agency administration as needed.
• Actively participate in supervision, training, community, team and service plan meetings, as directed.
• Follow all safety procedures and agency policies.
• Maintain professional boundaries while establishing a trustworthy and beneficial relationship.
• Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work closely with other Ariel programs.
