About The Position

This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly supervisor role within the Direct Support Program. The scope of this role involves supervising a single program or unit, typically supporting individuals in residential or periodic, vocational, or day programs. Duties are a blend of direct support, professional/program activities, and supervision. The position requires a valid Driver's License for at least one year post-permit and a clean Motor Vehicle Record meeting Sevita's insurability policy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One-year related work experience.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Car registration and auto insurance if driving on behalf of the Company or providing transportation to individuals receiving services.
  • Other licensure(s) or certification(s) where required by regulatory authority.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the program, including delivery of supports, implementation of person-centered plans, health care, advocacy, customer engagement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide direct support as a DSP for a portion of the work hours.
  • Document services and supports provided.
  • Review individual records, billing, and other program documentation for accuracy and completion.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual program plans.
  • Attend and assist with routine progress meetings.
  • Assist in maintaining licensing compliance for program services and supports.
  • Manage the safety of individuals' funds and property when assigned.
  • Complete or assist DSPs in documenting incident reports.
  • Compile and review census or attendance information for accurate billing.
  • Monitor the health of individuals served and communicate with medical professionals.
  • Schedule and assist in scheduling healthcare appointments, and may accompany individuals to appointments.
  • Administer or support self-administration of medication and document delivery.
  • Purchase and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
  • Develop menus based on diets, preferences, and occasions, and purchase food and supplies.
  • Maintain productive and professional relations with individuals, families, case managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Implement Sevita Customer Service Standards and train DSPs.
  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of DSPs.
  • Populate and maintain employee schedules to ensure coverage and minimize overtime.
  • Assist with onboarding and deliver orientation and ongoing training.
  • Prepare and conduct annual evaluations for DSPs.
  • Coach employees, correct behavior, and may recommend or participate in termination decisions.
  • Ensure employee safety and workers' compensation compliance.
  • Assist with or lead monthly program meetings for DSPs.
  • Purchase food, household supplies, office supplies, and minor equipment.
  • Review and attest to company credit card statements and monthly invoices.
  • Secure and safeguard individuals' served funds locally.
  • Update financial ledgers and maintain receipts for purchases on behalf of individuals served.
  • Review documentation for accurate billing and monitor utilization of services.
  • Monitor staffing hours for budgetary compliance.
  • Capture daily census within systems and ensure accurate and timely service capture.
  • Support location preparations for expected placements.
  • Test drive vehicles monthly, inspect lifts and seatbelts, and report safety concerns.
  • Train staff in safe vehicle operation and transporting individuals.
  • Schedule and monitor housekeeping, and oversee lawn and yard care.
  • Make or arrange for minor repairs and report issues to maintenance personnel.
  • Monitor environmental safety, including water temperature, refrigerator/freezer temperatures, and safety alarms/extinguishers.
  • Replace furnace filters monthly.
  • Monitor wheelchairs, lifts, and other safety equipment and ensure timely repairs.
  • Perform other duties and activities as required, including backfilling roles under supervision.
