About The Position

The nature of the job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community. This is a part-time position, averaging about 10 hours per week supporting a female, school-aged individual on the weekday afternoons.

Requirements

  • All DSPs will be trained on the Indiana Home and Community Support Professional standards.
  • Additional training as needed on Behavior Support Plans, Risk Plans, or Medication Administration.
  • Trained on and expected to complete Incident Reporting as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community.
  • Assist individuals supported with self-care, self-direction, expressive or receptive language, ambulation or mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), learning, independent living, economic self-sufficiency, physical activity, or community participation.
  • Document work records via AccelTrax with mandatory clocking in and out using Electronic Visit Verification if applicable.
  • Write narrative notes for each shift detailing assistance provided, individual's whereabouts, and duration of activities.
  • Select goals worked on in progress notes.
  • Complete Incident Reporting as needed.
