Requirements

  • Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported. This may include holidays, overnights, or double shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can.
  • Acting as a caregiver for the individual within the group home.
  • Providing support with household maintenance within the group home, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
  • Assisting individuals to their medical appointments and banking.
  • Assisting individuals to become active members of their community and attend outings.
  • Administering medications.
  • Following Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals.
  • Following medical guidelines that are in place.
  • Safely evacuating individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.
  • Maintaining certifications.
  • Handling job-related duties in compliance with Agency policies.
  • Following all DDS regulations/policies.
