About The Position

This role involves providing services to intellectually and developmentally challenged adults in their homes and community, assisting them in participating in daily routines and recreational activities. Requirements

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent and be at least 18 years old.
  • Relevant experience working with Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses, or forensic involvement.
  • A current driver’s license and California automobile insurance coverage for driving your personal vehicle to and from various community locations either independently or with other team members and/or Individuals.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Related experience in the following fields: Assisted Living, Behavior Aide, Caregiver, Certified Nursing Assistants, CNAs, Developmentally Disabled, DD, Job Coach, Direct Support Professional, DSP, Child Care, Elderly Care, Senior Care, Hospice Care, ILS, LVN, Autism, Special Education, Special Needs, ILS, SLS, Housekeeper, Driver, Cleaner, Home Health Aides (HHAs), Residential Care Facility Staff, In-home support, Med Tech, Personal Care Attendant, Day Program Staff or Adult Day Program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Individuals with their personal needs (e.g., hygiene, changing clothes/adult briefs, teeth brushing, medication reminders).
  • Assist Individuals with social needs (e.g., prepare meals, clean, engage through exercise/movement, games, and transporting them to community activities).
  • Keep accurate progress notes.
  • Proactively communicate information with the team about the Individuals’ needs.
  • Participate in all required training, team, and company meetings.
  • Take ownership of own behaviors and help coach others in demonstrating company C.A.R.E. values (compassion, adaptability, respect, and empowerment).
  • Learn techniques to help Individuals have positive interactions and reach their goals.
  • Learn about different agencies and resources to provide support directly or indirectly to Individuals.
  • See and understand different types of disabilities and mental health challenges in the Individuals served.
