Interrupted sleep time is also paid when applicable. A weekly food budget is provided during the week on, and the DSP receives one seven-hour break during the scheduled shift. The DSP helps residents maintain a safe and healthy environment, provides companionship and personalized care, and encourages independence and self-care. Duties include assistance with daily living activities, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, mobility and transfers, and positive behavior support. The position offers an opportunity to support individuals’ lives and gain health care experience.
