Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Experience in caregiving, direct support, customer service, healthcare, or other helping professions is highly valued.
- Experience working collaboratively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for helping others succeed and thrive.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow individualized support plans and maintain accurate documentation.
- Basic computer skills, including email and online training platforms.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to assist individuals with mobility and daily living activities, including lifting when necessary.
Nice To Haves
- Additional coursework in Human Services or a related field is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate support and assistance with daily living activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and personal care.
- Encourage and support participation in community activities, social events, and recreational opportunities.
- Build meaningful relationships with individuals served, their families, and fellow team members.
- Implement individualized care plans and help individuals work toward personal goals and greater independence.
- Assist with transportation to appointments, activities, and community resources.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
- Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or support needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
- Participate in ongoing training to strengthen your skills and advance your career.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating patience, respect, understanding, and empathy.
