Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Experience in caregiving, direct support, customer service, healthcare, or other helping professions is highly valued.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for helping others succeed and thrive.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to follow individualized support plans and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and online training platforms.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to assist individuals with mobility and daily living activities, including lifting when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional coursework in Human Services or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate support and assistance with daily living activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and personal care.
  • Encourage and support participation in community activities, social events, and recreational opportunities.
  • Build meaningful relationships with individuals served, their families, and fellow team members.
  • Implement individualized care plans and help individuals work toward personal goals and greater independence.
  • Assist with transportation to appointments, activities, and community resources.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
  • Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or support needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training to strengthen your skills and advance your career.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating patience, respect, understanding, and empathy.
