About The Position

Seeking a Direct Support Professional for a young man with a developmental disability in the Brewerton, NY area. This role involves providing 1:1 support to help the individual learn safety skills, social skills, independent living skills, and access the community. The ideal candidate will be engaging, creative, compassionate, and reliable, with effective communication skills. Experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. The individual lives in a home with cats, so the candidate must be comfortable with them.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
• Must be okay with cats.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Experience is preferred, but not necessary for the right candidate.
