As a DSP Supervisor, you’ll lead a residential team supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities - making sure services are consistent, respectful, and aligned with what matters most to each person. This is a hands-on leadership role where you balance operations, team development, and day-to-day connection with the people who call our programs home.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and hold a team accountable
  • Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Confidence responding to crises and making sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort using technology for documentation, scheduling, and timekeeping
  • Commitment to person-centered, culturally competent care
  • Ability to complete AMAP certification and administer medications accurately
  • Ability to handle basic financial tasks (budgeting, tracking, simple transactions)
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Bachelor’s degree + 1 year field experience + 6 months supervisory experience OR Associate’s degree + 2 years field experience + 1 year supervisory experience OR 5+ years field experience + 2 years supervisory experience OR Internal candidate with 4+ years of experience in the field

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish or American Sign Language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a residential program while supporting both staff and the people we serve
  • Lead and support your team
  • Supervise and work alongside Direct Support Professionals in a residential setting
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain staff in partnership with HR and program leadership
  • Track and maintain staff training requirements to ensure no lapses
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and progressive discipline when needed
  • Complete staff performance agreements aligned with Core Competencies
  • Ensure high-quality, person-centered services
  • Develop, review, and implement service plans that reflect each person’s goals
  • Make sure daily activities and supports align with those plans
  • Build strong relationships with each person’s circle of support to address needs and solve problems
  • Provide direct interaction and support to ensure services are meaningful and consistent
  • Support culturally responsive, person-centered experiences—including community participation and personal preferences
  • Keep the program running smoothly
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage at all times
  • Oversee program operations, including staffing, physical environment, and overall efficiency
  • Maintain program budgets, support billing, and approve staff timesheets
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and supports service delivery and billing
  • Maintain up-to-date records and individual charts
  • Promote safety, quality, and accountability
  • Ensure the safety of all individuals and staff
  • Identify, report, and resolve incidents and compliance issues quickly
  • Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of the home and vehicles
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Lead with professionalism, clear communication, and accountability
