About The Position

We are committed to person-centered, family-focused services. We serve children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children experiencing mental health challenges, children who cannot remain at home and require foster care placement and children who are Unaccompanied Refugee Minors who come to the United States from around the world and whose lives have been torn apart due to conflict and oppression. This program works one on one with individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities going out into the community for group activities. Schedule: Mon-Fri hours vary

Requirements

Must be 21 years old.
Possess a valid NYS driver's license with 4 points or less.
Use of personal vehicle required.
NYS background checks required.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as an advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Assist with personal care needs, provide supervision, and act as a role model to clients who reside in a group home setting or out in the community.
Assist clients in their day-to-day routines and teach them skills necessary to achieve their maximum potential as defined in their care plans.
Help in maintaining the household including, but not limited to, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning and shopping.
Serve as a positive liaison between outside service providers, parents, and others who have a relationship with clients.
Provide transportation for program needs/recreational activities.
Create and maintain a meaningful environment to help others live their best possible life.
