About The Position
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) make a positive difference in the lives of others by providing assistance and strategies to individuals in community settings to help them live as independently as possible. DSPs work closely with clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans, assist with daily living skills, and support individuals in achieving their developmental goals.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
- Successful clearance of background checks
- A reliable, responsible attitude
- A compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in human services preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide transportation and support for individuals in the community, including outings, medical appointments, and shopping.
- Assist with daily living skills such as meal preparation and medication administration.
- Provide guidance on developmental goals, including community participation, household budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and vocational responsibilities.
- Support individuals with living skills such as personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, and toileting.
- Assist individuals in redirecting agitated or aggressive behaviors.
