About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. The role assists with personal hygiene, activities and outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning, while supporting community participation, independent living skills, and meaningful personal relationships. The position is a full-time awake overnight weekday role serving females in Baltimore County/Buckhorn. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. The rate of pay is $22 per hour, and the position is classified as non-exempt.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must be at least 20 years of age.
Must have at least 2 years of driving experience.
Must have a current driver’s license (not provisional) with fewer than 3 points on the driving record.
Must be able to transport people supported as needed.
Some lifting and transferring may be required.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with participation in and exploration of the community.
Cultivate and expand independent living skills.
Assist with personal hygiene, activities and outings, social engagement, shopping, planning, cooking, and cleaning.
Assist with the development of meaningful and personal relationships.
Complete required documentation, including incident reports, progress notes, behavior data, and fire drills.
Administer and record medications pursuant to state and agency requirements, when applicable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Transport people supported as needed.
