About The Position
Chapel Haven Schleifer Center is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to support adults with disabilities in developing daily living, social, and independence skills within our residential program. DSPs play a key role in teaching life skills, supporting personal care routines, and helping individuals build confidence and independence in a structured, supportive environment.
Requirements
- DDS Med Certified (required)
- Ability to obtain CT Public Service License
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, patient, and supportive approach
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or learning disabilities preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach daily living skills including cooking, nutrition, hygiene, and home maintenance
- Support residents with cleaning, laundry, and organization skills
- Promote positive social skills and relationship building
- Complete documentation and case notes as required
- Administer medication (DDS Med Certification required)
- Provide transportation when needed (valid CT driver’s license required)
