Direct Support Professional - Day Hab - Part Time - Days
About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Day Habilitation, you enhance the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities by assisting, instructing, and supporting individuals to be as independent as possible. You promote their health, safety, and well-being while building positive, meaningful relationships. You advocate for individuals to communicate their wants and needs and support their integration into the community for recreation. You also help create a well-rounded environment by performing light housekeeping, helping individuals plan nutritious meals, and administering medications as needed. You participate in regularly scheduled training to develop the skills and knowledge needed to support individuals effectively. The starting rate is $17.50 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to perform all job functions.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Be a positive role model for people with disabilities and other staff.
Nice To Haves
- Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy.
