About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team at their program in Coatesville, PA. The ideal DSP candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on their individuals lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. They will foster a true sense of pride in their individual by teaching them to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry. Work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager. The role involves making a difference in the life of those you work with to enhance their independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma/G.E.D. is preferred.
Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals.
Fostering a sense of pride in individuals by teaching them to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry.
Assisting individuals with daily and personal activities to enhance their independence.
Performing work in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager.
Observing activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, and inspecting living areas.
