Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Easter Seals of Tennessee is seeking compassionate and hardworking individuals to make profound positive differences in the lives of people with disabilities as they learn, work, and play in their communities. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are considered an exemplary reflection of the mission-driven work performed daily. The role involves providing caregiver assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration, primarily based in the person's supported home. DSPs also facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals in the community and support therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those supported. The organization encourages applications from individuals with or without previous experience, stating that they will provide training for success.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have valid automobile insurance
- Basic computer skills
- Pass a background and drug screen
Responsibilities
- Provide caregiver assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration
- Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals in the community
- Support therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support
