About The Position
Merakey is seeking mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable individuals to join our team in Slippery Rock, PA as Direct Support Professionals. This role is ideal for experienced caregivers, direct care workers, home health aides, or individuals looking to start a meaningful career in human services. No prior experience is required as Merakey provides paid training. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work alongside a passionate team to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will help them build independence, develop social and communication skills, and navigate daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and community engagement. This role involves making memories through activities like trips to the park and helping individuals achieve personal goals, acting as a mentor, coach, and advocate.
Requirements
- A verifiable high school diploma or GED is required.
- A current and valid driver's license is required
- Age 18 or older

- Related experience is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
- Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills
- Provide community support, transportation
- Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support (as trained)
- Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs
