About The Position
Devereux California is hosting a hiring event for Full-Time and Part-Time positions. They are seeking dedicated and energetic professionals passionate about empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event will offer opportunities to learn about programs, employment, enjoy refreshments, and participate in on-the-spot interviews with potential same-day offers. Devereux California is a nonprofit organization providing residential, supported living, vocational, and clinical services to adults with developmental disabilities in Santa Barbara County. The roles involve ensuring individual safety and supporting self-help skills to encourage independence.
Requirements
- Valid CDL and clean driving record
- Must be able to pass thorough background checks & Livescan
- High School Diploma or GED
- The ability to work a minimum of three shifts per week for PT positions (18/24 hours depending on program)
- One weekend shift per week required
- Must be willing to work with aggressive and/or challenging behaviors (paid training upon hire)
Responsibilities
- Assisting, instructing, and supporting individuals with daily living activities, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, bill pay, and grocery shopping.
- Accompanying individuals on community outings, medical appointments, and other activities, as directed.
- Assisting with hygiene care.
- Other duties, as directed.
