About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team in Philadelphia. This role involves creating long-term impacts on consumers' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. Responsibilities include following Individual Support Plans, assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry to enhance independence. Merakey is a non-profit provider of developmental, behavioral health, and education services, serving nearly 40,000 individuals and families across 12 states with over 8,000 employees. They have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and are committed to diversity and inclusion.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D preferred.
- Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Responsibilities

- Making memories with individuals by engaging in activities like visiting parks and sensory gardens.
