About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join their team at their program in Slippery Rock, PA. This role involves creating long-term impacts on individuals' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. DSPs will spend their days in various settings, making memories with individuals by following their Individual Support Plan. This includes activities like going to the park and sensory gardens, working on social and communication skills, and teaching daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and laundry to foster independence and pride.

Requirements

• A verifiable high school diploma or GED is required.
• A current and valid driver's license is required.
• Age 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Encourage, mentor, and coach individuals to achieve their goals.
• Follow Individuals Support Plan to engage individuals in activities.
• Assist individuals in the park and sensory gardens.
• Work on social and communication skills with individuals.
• Teach individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as personal care, housekeeping, and laundry.
• Enhance individual independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.
