About The Position

Access Services is seeking a caring and patient Part-Time DSP (Direct Support Professionals) to support individuals in the Tobyhanna, Bartonsville and Stroudsburg areas. The current shift options are: Tobyhanna Tuesday 10am-2pm Stroudsburg Tuesday 3pm-6pm Thursday 3pm-6pm Bartonsville Tuesday 3pm-6:30pm Pen Argyl Friday 8:15am-3:15pm As a Direct Support Professional, you will have the opportunity to provide supports to adults with developmental disabilities/Autism, as they participate in meaningful activities and experiences throughout their community. You'll provide individualized support based on each person's needs, interest, and goals. Paid training is provided by Access Services, so no experience is necessary.

Requirements

Background checks, physical examination, and a driving history record.
A valid US driver’s license for at least two years, not including time with permit.
No serious traffic convictions within the past three years. (Serious convictions include, but are not limited to, DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or three or more traffic violations and/or at-fault accidents within that period).
Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours.
Vehicle must have valid registration and inspection stickers.
Valid auto insurance.
Proof that you are a covered driver on the policy.
Ability and willingness to provide personal care.
Ability to manage time and work independently within provided guidelines.
Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies.
Ability to navigate network drives and basic hardware use and troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
One year of direct care experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred.
Creative problem solving and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to teach basic daily living skills.
Knowledge of basic family dynamics.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with individuals, their families, case managers and the general public.
Ability to express ideas clearly with the individual and family.
Ability to express ideas verbally and document clear and precise outcomes.
Demonstrated commitment and sensitivity to the family atmosphere.
Commitment to Resident Rights and individuality of the person being served.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with developmental intellectual disabilities in the region where you serve.
Provide creative support through a variety of tasks, activities and/or community engagement.
Provide direct services to individuals in their own homes or in their natural family homes.
Provide supports as outlined in the individual’s plan of care utilizing approved interventions.
Maintain appropriate case notes for the individuals served.
Engage in supervision, training, and professional development.
