About The Position

This role involves providing services to intellectually and developmentally challenged adults in their homes and community, assisting them in participating in daily routines and recreational activities. Requirements

  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent and be at least 18 years old.
  • Relevant experience working with Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, dual diagnoses, or forensic involvement.
  • A current driver’s license and California automobile insurance coverage for driving your personal vehicle to and from various community locations either independently or with other team members and/or Individuals.
  • If a company vehicle is available for use, one must also be 21 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Individuals with their personal needs, including hygiene matters (baths/showers, changing clothes/adult briefs, teeth brushing) and medication reminders.
  • Assist Individuals with social needs, such as preparing meals, cleaning, and engaging through exercise/movement, games, and transporting them to community activities.
  • Keep accurate progress notes.
  • Proactively communicate information with the team about the Individuals' needs.
  • Participate in all required training, team, and company meetings.
  • Take ownership of personal behaviors and help coach others in demonstrating the company’s C.A.R.E. values (compassion, adaptability, respect, and empowerment).
  • Provide direct or indirect support to Individuals by learning about different agencies and resources.
  • Learn techniques to help Individuals have positive interactions and reach their goals.
  • Engage with Individuals through exercise/movement and games.
