About The Position

The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety, and well-being, and advocating to improve their overall quality of life. The role is with Redwood Family Care Network, which delivers person-centered home and community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The position is full-time and based in Rio Linda, California. The scheduled shift is Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The hourly rate is $17.00–$19.00, depending on certifications and role. Work is not remote.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a California driver’s license.
• Must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must obtain Direct Support Professional Certificate – DSP Year 1 and Year 2 within the first 12 months of hire.
• Must obtain an RBT within the first year of employment.

Nice To Haves

• First Aid/CPR and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification; preferred or must be willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare clients’ daily visual and active routines as written in their Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients’ undergarments and/or clothing when needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
• Pick up and drop off clients in company vans to and from their home or facility, if necessary.
• Promote clients’ health, safety, and well-being.
• Advocate to improve clients’ overall quality of life.
