About The Position

A 21-year-old male is looking for a respite provider to assist him in exploring his community, making new connections and learn communication skills. He enjoys going to familiar places in the community such as chuck-e-cheese, Dave & Busters, the mall and out to eat. He is open to exploring new experiences with staff support. The family would prefer to have a male candidate but is open to a female DSP. The ideal candidate would be aware of activities available in Syracuse and encourage him to try new things. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency. Hours and days of work: Monday-Friday 10a-2pm with flexibility for weekends and other times. Average 20 hours per week.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
